Please keep in mind the transportation of this tour is a combination of private A/C car, speedboat, rowing boat, and walking. We have designed the time of each transportation to fit best with what you need, to optimize your experience and cost.

Itinerary

At 7:30 AM, our tour guide will come with a private A/C car to pick you up at your hotel. It will take 30-45 minutes to leave Ho Chi Minh City center and arrive at Binh Khanh Ferry. This ferry is the only connection between the urban sites of HCMC and Can Gio District, which we will visit.

We highly recommend that you go to the toilet before the tour, as there may be traffic jams at Binh Khanh Ferry and it may cause inconvenience in case you need to go.

During the time on the ferry through the river, our tour guide will tell you stories about the life of local people here before we enter Can Gio.

Binh Khanh Ferry to visit Can Gio

Saying goodbye to the traffic jam at Binh Khanh Ferry, you will enjoy 23 kilometers of Rung Sac – the most beautiful road in Can Gio – where the sceneries will change 100% from urban to a green, breathtaking forest one. After about 30 minutes on this road, we will stop at Can Gio Mangrove Biosphere Reserve Center, and get on a speedboat for a new journey on the river.

On arrival, we visit the mangrove forest to see over 1,000 monkeys living there, you can feed and take photos with many monkeys surrounding and climbing on your shoulders. Continuing with a short walk to the crocodile area where local people conserve many huge crocodiles from the “American war”. You can try to do “crocodile fishing” there (optional). Then taking the speed boat to “Sac” guerilla camp – was built in deep jungle. Nowadays, the camp has become a major tourist attraction. It is not only a unique experience but also it helps the visitors understand more about the jungle life during the war.

Salt-making in Can Gio

We will visit a local restaurant with a sea view to enjoy lunch (seafood). In case you have seafood allergies, or are vegan, we will change to a nearby restaurant for you. There are some notes that we want you to know before booking the tour:

• The sea is very local, with not many tourists around like in other areas. However, the sea may not be as beautiful as one in Nha Trang, Phan Thiet, or Vung Tau.
• Because these restaurants are not touristy, they are quite “too local” with old-fashioned toilets that may cause you uncomfortable. You may want to go to the WC before we arrive at the restaurant.
• Although lunch is at your cost, we make sure that these local restaurants meet the quality of food, price, and honesty. The full meal will cost you only 10-15 USD per person (our tour guide will advise what to choose in the menu)

After lunch, we will start going back to your hotel. It will take 2 – 2,5 hours depending on the traffic. We will end the tour at your hotel at around 4:00 – 5:00 PM.
