Tra Que, a charming little village on the edge of Hoi An, is named after the sweet scented vegetables that spice up the everyday meals of Hoi An residents. Experience a day living and working in Tra Que vegetable village, you will have a chance to discover the daily life of farmers here.
7am: Early pick up from your hotel and walk to the Hoi An colourful market to interact with the local sellers and purchase some of the ingredients to be used in the cooking lesson later. Biking to a local’s house in Tra Que vegetable village to prepare for the cooking lesson.
10am: Practise 04 dishes:
- Making fresh rice paper.
- Fresh rice paper rolls with shrimps.
- Crispy Hoi An pancakes with shrimps, herbs & peanut sauce.
- Vietnamese eggplant in claypot.
12pm: Tasting lunch with the family’s host.
1.30pm: Learn how to make a lantern by practising with a craftsman. You will have a chance to enjoy making the lantern and keep it as a souvenir.
2.30pm: Join the farmers in preparing the land and fertilizing it with seaweed from the local lake. Continue doing activities such as: raking, sowing, watering greens, picking greens and many more gardening activities. Taste a sweetened bean soup before leaving the local’s house.
4.30pm: Biking back to your hotel, end of services.
