Bat Trang is the famous ceramic village, situated approximately 10 km east of Hanoi, surrounded by fertile farmland. Dong Ho is the only village where people know how to make a kind of painting made of bark of a tree called “Dzo”.
AM: Pick up at your hotel in Hanoi, drive to Bat Trang. Upon arrival, a buffalo cart will take you to a journey around the village. Stop at a workshop to see teams of young men and women work on production lines, baking, sanding and painting ceramic products.
PM: Continue to the village of Dong Ho, home of traditional folk paintings in Vietnam. These artisans have been producing fine woodblock prints for centuries. Join the procedure of producing a Dong Ho painting. Then visit the famous 300 hundred year-old Pagoda of But Thap, which was built by the late Le Dynasty, well-known by traditional Vietnamese Art of wood carving and sculpture. Back to Hanoi.
